Engine Ground Strap Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Battery Disconnect Warning).

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the ground strap to chassis retaining bolt (3).
3. Remove the ground strap to engine block retaining bolt (2).
4. Remove the ground strap (1) from the engine compartment.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the ground strap (1) to the engine compartment.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the ground strap to engine block retaining bolt (2) and tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
3. Install the ground strap to chassis retaining bolt (3) and tighten to xx Nm (xx lb ft).
4. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
