Rear Brake Shield Replacement (GT)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Service and Repair)Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (GT) (Service and Repair)Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Except All Wheel Drive and GT) (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the park brake hardware with the park brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (All Wheel Drive and GT) (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the rear brake shield (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the rear brake shield (1) to the knuckle.
2. Apply high temperature lubricant to the metal contact points on the rear brake shield and on the adjuster (4, 5, 6).
3. Assemble the adjuster.
4. Install the park brake hardware with the park brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (All Wheel Drive and GT) (Service and Repair).
5. Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (Service and Repair).
