Parking Brake System: Service and Repair




Park Brake Hardware Replacement (All Wheel Drive and GT)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the rear brake rotor (12). Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the park brake hardware (4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, 15) with the park brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (All Wheel Drive and GT) (Service and Repair).

Installation Procedure




1. Apply high temperature lubricant to the metal contact points on the backing plate (1) and on the adjuster (4, 5, 6).
2. Assemble the adjuster.




3. Install the park brake hardware (4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, 15) with the park brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (All Wheel Drive and GT) (Service and Repair).
4. Install the rear brake rotor (12). Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (Service and Repair).
