Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair)
2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair)
3. Remove the air cleaner cap with hose.
4. Remove the air cleaner case.




5. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (1).




6. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor (1) and gasket (2).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the engine coolant temperature sensor (1) through a new gasket (2) and tighten to 20 Nm (14 lb ft).




2. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (1).
3. Install the air cleaner case.
4. Install the air cleaner cap with hose.
5. Add engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair).
6. Inspect for coolant leak.
7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
