Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair




Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the air cleaner cap with hose.




3. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector (1).
4. Remove the bolt (2) and the camshaft position sensor.

Installation Procedure




1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring (1) of the sensor.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the camshaft position sensor with the bolt (2) and tighten to 9.0 Nm (80 lb in).
3. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector (1).
4. Install the air cleaner cap with hose.
5. Inspect for engine oil leak.
6. Install engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
