Transfer Case Shift Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure





Note: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the glove compartment door assembly.
3. Disconnect the connector.
4. Remove the bolts (1, 3) and the AWD control ECU (2).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the AWD control ECU (2) with the bolts (1, 3) and tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb in).
2. Connect the connector.
3. Install the glove compartment door assembly.
4. Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
5. Check for AWD control ECU signal.
