Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement (Rear)

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the rear door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Front Sill) (Service and Repair)Door Sill Plate Replacement (Rear Sill) (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the rear seat garnish molding. Refer to Body Side Rear Garnish Molding Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the side impact sensor (SIS) electrical connector.




5. Remove the SIS fastener (2).
6. Remove the SIS (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the SIS (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the SIS fastener (2).

Tighten the fastener to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

3. Install the SIS electrical connector.
4. Install the rear seat garnish molding. Refer to Body Side Rear Garnish Molding Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the rear door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Front Sill) (Service and Repair)Door Sill Plate Replacement (Rear Sill) (Service and Repair).
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
