Stop Lamp Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure




Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Service Precautions).

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the stop lamp switch electrical connector (1).




3. Turn the stop lamp switch (1) counter clockwise and remove the stop lamp switch assembly.

Installation Procedure





Note: When inserting the stop lamp switch assembly, support the pedal from behind so that the pedal is not pushed in.

1. Install the stop lamp switch (1) until the rod hits the cushion.
2. Make a quarter turn clockwise to install the stop lamp switch assembly.
3. Adjust the stop lamp clearance. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Adjustment (Adjustments).




4. Connect the stop lamp switch electrical connector (1).
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
