Windshield Wiper Transmission Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement (Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement).




2. Using a flat-bladed tool, disengage the meshing of the inner rod (1) from the crank arm pivot (2).




3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).
4. Remove the bolts (1).
5. Remove the wiper motor (3) from the wiper motor transmission (4).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the wiper transmission (4) to the wiper motor (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

2. Install the bolts (1) which secure the wiper transmission (4) to the wiper motor (3) and tighten to 5.4 Nm (48 lb in)..
3. Connect the electrical connector (2).




4. Apply multi purpose grease to the crank arm pivot (1) of the windshield wiper motor assembly.




5. Connect the rod of the wiper transmission (1) to the crank arm pivot (2) of the windshield wiper motor.
6. Install the windshield wiper motor assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement (Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement).
