Steering/Ignition Lock

REMOVING AND INSTALLING STEERING COLUMN SWITCH AND STEERING LOCK from 1981 Models






1. Pull off cover by hand.
2. Loosen nut and take off steering wheel.






3. Remove mounting screws.






4. Loosen steering column switch, remove trim and disconnect multiple pin plug.






5. Pull off spacer with a water pump pliers while turning simultaneously.






6. Remove socket head screw on steering lock housing and pull off housing.


REMOVING LOCK CYLINDER from 1981 Models

1. Mark steering lock housing according to size and drill an approx,3 mm dia. hole.

2. Press in retainer with a suitable tool (mandrel or scribe) and pull lock cylinder out of housing at same time.
