Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Test Readings, Control Module Connections

Test Readings, Control Module Connections

The following images contain directions and test values for the MCC unit.

Remember:
^ Note the test conditions. Use common sense when assessing the test results.
^ First check that the control module is supplied with current and grounded.
Then check all the sensor inputs and signals from other systems.
Lastly, check the control module outputs. Remember, the test values do not say anything about whether or not the actuator is functioning.
^ If any reading is not OK, consult the wiring diagram to trace the leads, connectors or components which ought to be checked more thoroughly.
^ The test readings indicated are in respect of calibrated FLUKE 88/97.
^ The test values indicate the pulse ratio and pulse length of the signal respectively. A test instrument for measuring pulse ratio and pulse width respectively must be used.

> = greater than; < = less than; ~ = alternating current (LP: LOGIC PROBE P = select pulse; p = visible pulse).
