Lower Intake Manifold Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System, Draining and Filling (GE 47716) Cooling System, Draining and Filling (Static Fill LAU) Cooling System, Draining and Filling (Static Fill LF1).
2. Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement.
3. Remove the fuel injector rail. Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement.
4. Remove the 2 lower intake manifold bolts (1).





5. Remove the lower intake manifold (2).
6. Remove the lower Intake manifold gasket (3).
7. Clean and inspect lower intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection (LF1, LFW or LFX) Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection (LAU or LBW).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the NEW lower intake manifold gasket (3).





2. Install the lower intake manifold (2).
3. Refer to Fastener Caution.
Install the two lower intake manifold bolts (1) and tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).
4. Install the fuel injector rail. Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement.
5. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement.
6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System, Draining and Filling (GE 47716) Cooling System, Draining and Filling (Static Fill LAU) Cooling System, Draining and Filling (Static Fill LF1).
