Vehicle Lifting: Service Precautions

Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

Warning: Diesel engine vehicles equipped with an engine coolant heater, must be lifted from the rear rocker panel flanges. Failure to lift the rear of the vehicle from these locations could damage the engine coolant heater fuel pressure pump.

1. Front Jacking Points
2. Rear Jacking Points

NOTE: To prevent damage to components and aggregates when raising vehicles, apply lifting tools at the points shown. The manufacturer's guidelines for handling lifting tools must be observed. When jacking up a vehicle with the on-board tool, follow the instructions in the Owner's Manual.

To prevent damage to the rocker panel, the gap (1) between lifting tool and rocker panel has to be minimum 15 mm (0.6 in).
