Transmission Control System Relay: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The master enable relay (also called "A/TRANS") provides power to the transmission actuator solenoids.

OPERATION
The master enable relay (A/Trans relay) is provided a ground by the PCM when the vehicle is started. This energizes the relay allowing power to flow to the five actuator solenoids and to supply a feedback signal to the PCM.


LOCATION
The master enable relay is located in the underhood junction block.
