Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Air Induction Tubes:




Turbine (Transmission) Speed Sensor:






REMOVAL

1. Remove air induction system from the battery tray, and move aside to gain access to sensor. Remove the air filter box.


2. Disconnect electrical connector from turbine sensor and remove sensor.


IMPORTANT Inspect O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.


INSTALLATION

1. Install turbine sensor.


Torque: 26 Nm (19 ft lbs)


NOTICE: Clean and lubricate fastener with ATF (DEXRON-II or DEXRON-III). Wipe off excess fluid and install.

2. Connect electrical connector to sensor. Push in until a click is heard and pull back on connector to confirm positive engagement.

3. Install air filter box.


Torque: 10 Nm (89 in lbs)


4. Install air induction system and tighten clamps.


Torque: 2 Nm (18 in lbs)


5. Check transaxle fluid level.
