When a problem occurs, the ECS (Electric Control System) lamp will illuminate and the trouble code will flash on the monitor lamp. Trouble codes are flashed repeatedly in sequence shown, Fig. 58. If several problems exist, trouble codes are flashed in numerical order.
The self-diagnosing function is available in 2 modes: Regular Mode and Test Mode. To enter the Test Mode, make sure the ignition is OFF, then connect the test mode connector. The test mode connectors are "T" shaped and are under the left side dash near the control unit. Then turn the key ON. Trouble codes will be displayed on the monitor lamp.
