Transmission Control Systems: Service Precautions

Supplemental restraint system (airbag) wiring harness is routed near the transmission control module (TCM). Use these precautions to avoid accidental airbag deployment:

1. All airbag system wiring harness and connectors are colored yellow. Do not use electrical test equipment on these circuits.
2. Be careful not to damage the airbag system wiring harness when performing diagnostics and servicing the TCM.
