When performing a self diagnosis on the combination meter of a 2006MY Legacy/Outback or B9 Tribeca step number Tin the self diagnosis of the service manual tells you to 'Turn the ignition switch to ON while turning the small light to OFF'. The small light and small light switch that they are referring to is the parking light of the combination switch that turns the parking (small) lights on.
