INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this bulletin is to clarify the proper installation direction of the valve springs used on the FA engine. The coils are closer together at the bottom and further apart at the top (retainer) end. It is important to note the proper orientation upon installation. The springs also have a green paint mark identifier as shown in the chart below.

The spring specifications are listed under part information.

Important Installation Note:
When installing the valve spring, the end with the tighter (narrower pitch) coils must go against the spring seat / cylinder head.
