Cylinder Head Assembly

Cylinder Head Bolts
Please refer to Cylinder Head Removal and Installation for bolt tightening sequence and specifications. Service and Repair

Cylinder Head Inspection





Check for warpage at mating surface between the cylinder block and cylinder head using a straight edge (A) and thickness gauge (B). If the warpage exceeds limit, replace the cylinder head.

Warping limit 0.020 mm (0.0008 in)

Standard height of cylinder head 124 ± 0.05 mm (4.88 ± 0.0020 in)

Camshaft Cap Bolts





Gradually tighten the camshaft cap in at least two stages in the numerical order shown in the figure, then tighten to specified torque.

Tightening Torque
(1) - (12) 16 Nm (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)
(13) - (17) 9.75 Nm (1.0 kgf-m, 7.2 ft-lb)
