Description of On-Board Diagnostics

On-Board Diagnostic System Description




NOTE: The diagnostic information as diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be known by using SUZUKI scan tool (1). For further details, refer to DTC Check.

HVAC control module (2) can detect malfunctions, which may occur in the following area.
- Temperature control actuator of heater unit
- Air flow control actuator of heater unit
- Temperature selector of HVAC control module
- Blower speed selector of HVAC control module
- Air flow selector of HVAC control module

When HVAC control module detects malfunction, the diagnostic information as diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the memory of the module. By performing the DTC check procedure, the diagnostic information can be known by reading the flashing pattern of the fresh air indicator lamp (3) and recirculation indicator lamp (4). For the procedure, refer to DTC Check.

When HVAC control module detects malfunction, the rear defogger indicator lamp (5) flashes on and off for 15 seconds for a notice.
