System Checking/Adjusting

Cruise control system, checking/adjusting

Removing actuator element:

1 - Vacuum actuator
2 - Actuator mounting bracket
3 - Pedal cluster
4 - Linkage

Vacuum actuator, adjusting:

- loosen adjustment sleeve 2 on actuator 1 and push completely forward
- adjust cable 3
- pull adjustment sleeve to rear until 3.5 mm of play is obtained at the pedal plate
- turn to adjustment sleeve to right to lock into place
- check accelerator pedal clearance

Ventilation valves, removing and installing:

1 - Vacuum lines 4
2 - Ventilation valve on clutch pedal
3 - Ventilation valve on brake pedal
4 - Vacuum actuator

Removing
- remove driver's side instrument panel trim
- remove connector and vacuum line
- unscrew ventilation valve out of bracket

Installing
- press ventilation valve up to stop in bracket
- pedal must be completely pulled back

Vacuum pump (V 18), removing:

1 - Vacuum line
2 - Vacuum pump
3 - Wiring harness to vacuum pump

- remove battery
- remove windshield washer mounting bracket
- remove vacuum pump
