Auxiliary Heater B2L (Gasoline) Servicing (Canada Only)

Fuel Flow Rate, Checking







Test requirements:
- Intake and outlet channel are not plugged
- Combustion air lines and exhaust lines are not plugged.
- Between terminal -3- and -4- of control module -J65- there must be a voltage of between 11 V and 13 V.


NOTE: Hold measuring glass at height of glow/spark plug during checking.


Checking:
- Set test range selector switch on Fluke 83 to direct voltage measurement, test range 20 V
- Connect test points to contact 3 (-) and contact 4 (+) of control module -J65-
- Remove connector on the glow/spark plug -Q5-
- Place fuel line into measuring glass (10 ml - 25 ml)
- Switch on heater
- Bleed fuel hose
- Switch off heater and drain measuring glass
- Switch heater on again
- As soon as fuel flows, activate stop watch
- Read voltage on Fluke 83
- After 1 minute switch off heater
- Read amount of fuel flow and compare measuring value with diagram
- The fuel flow amount is OK if the value read is in the highlighted area of the diagram


NOTE:
- Replace fuel transfer pump -G23- if fuel flow is out of specification.
- If fuel flow is in specification, fresh air/heater blower -V81- may be turning too slowly Replace.
