Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Wiper Blade: Service and Repair

Wiper Rubbers, Removing And Installing

Removing

- At the closed end of the wiper rubber, press both chrome steel strips together and pull out from the upper wiper blade clip. Remove (slide out) rubber complete with strips from the remaining clips.

Installing

- Slide new rubber through wiper blade clips.
- Insert both strips in the first groove of the rubber so that the recesses in the strips face the rubber and engage in the rubber lugs of the groove.
- Using pliers press both steel strips and rubber together and insert in the clips so that the lugs of the clips on both sides engage in the retaining slots (arrow) of the wiper blade rubber.
