Tightening Torques

Tightening torques:

Cylinder Head Bolts





Replace bolts
First pass: Bolts 1-13 hand-tight
Second pass: Bolts 1-12 40 Nm
Third pass: Bolts 1-12 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn
Fourth pass: Bolts 1-12 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn
Final pass: Bolts 13 10 Nm

Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts
Please refer to Camshafts, Removing and Installing for tightening
specifications and procedure. Service and Repair

Main Bearing Cap Bolts 40 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
Replace

Connecting Rod Bolts 30 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
Replace

Belt Pulley/Vibration Damper Bolts
Replace
Strength category 12.9 70 Nm
Strength category 10.9 50 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)

Drive Plate/Flywheel Bolts
Replace
First pass 30 Nm
Final pass 60 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)

Oil Pump Bolts

specifications and procedure. Service and Repair

Coolant Pump to Cylinder Block Bolts 10 Nm
