Vacuum Actuator For Intake Manifold Flaps, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Hand vacuum pump VAS 6213 or Hand vacuum pump V.A.G 1390

Conditions
- Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Valve N316 was checked using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A under "Guided Fault Finding"

Test sequence
If Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Valve N316 is OK
- Disconnect vacuum hose at vacuum actuator.

When using hand vacuum pump VAS 6213 :







- Set slide ring - 1 - on hand vacuum pump VAS 6213 to position - A - for "vacuum".







- Connect hand vacuum pump to vacuum actuator - arrow -.







- Operate hand vacuum pump several times. Operating plunger must move in direction of - arrow -.

NOTE: Use a mirror for testing.

- Disconnect hand vacuum pump from vacuum actuator. Operating plunger must spring back into its initial position.
- If operating plunger does not move as described, replace actuator.
