Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Inner Mounting Tab, Repairing

Inner Mounting Tab, Repairing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).

During removal and installation, leave ignition key with remote control inside the vehicle to prevent the doors from locking and possibly activating the "Coming Home / Leaving Home" functions on its own.

- Remove the headlamp. Refer to 357 => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp or 358 => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp.

- Remove the rest of the old headlamp mounting tab - 1 - as illustrated.

Preparing the repair tab

The repair tab can break off.

Because the banjo fitting cuts its own threads when it is installed in the repair tab, insert it gently in the repair tabs.

Install the banjo fitting - 1 - straight into the repair tab - 2 - before mounting the repair tab on the headlamp housing.

- Insert the new repair tab - 2 - into the mount - 1 - on the headlamp and secure the tab with the bolts - 3 -.

Bolt tightening specification: 1.4 Nm.

- Install the headlamp.

If one headlamp is removed, it must always be adjusted after installation.

Adjust the headlamp.
