B. Symptom table

Mode or operation
Identify the fault symptom by asking the customer or by test driving the car.
If the car's fault symptom is indicated in the table, troubleshooting is best carried out using the methods detailed below.

Intermittent faults
For faults which arise intermittently or which are not present when the car is checked, the Volvo System Tester can be of use in the troubleshooting process. However, not all the fault symptoms on the list can be identified by the System Tester, for instance if the engine dies immediately after start. You should therefore always follow the instructions detailed under each respective fault symptom.
