Checking the control module








- Ignition off.
- Connect control module.
- Ignition on.
When the ignition is switched on the control module lights the ABS warning lamp. Check that the warning lamp goes out after approximately 2 seconds.

Note! If a fault is registered the warning lamp will not go out.

Does the warning lamp light and go out shortly afterwards?

Yes - Fault cause and checking for contact resistance and oxidation

No - Replacing component

The fault was caused by poor contact in the control module or combined instrument panel connectors.
Check combined instrument panel and control module connectors for contact resistance and oxidation and remedy according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Continue - Verification

Replacing component
Try a new control module according to Replacing the control module Removal and Replacement.

Select "Continue" when the component has been replaced.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.




- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components etc.
- Ignition on.
When the ignition is switched on the control module lights the ABS warning lamp. Check that the warning lamp goes out after approximately 2 seconds.

Note! The warning lamp will not go out if a fault has been stored in the control module.
