Using the Volvo Scan Tool

VOLVO SCAN TOOL





The Volvo Scan tool (ST) with memory cassette makes it possible to communicate with the car's various control modules. By connecting the Volvo Scan Tool to the car's data link connector (DLC) one can read and erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), activate components and functions, read output and input signals, reset functions etc.

Connecting the Volvo Scan Tool
- Ignition off.
- Install memory cassette.
- Connect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) using the data link connector wiring in the bracket in front of the gear selector.
- Ignition on.
- Power up the Volvo Scan Tool.
- Select language, car and group of functions.
- Select system.

- Select DIAGNOSTIC TEST to:
^ Read or Erase stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
^ Activate Components/Functions.
^ Reset Adaptive Functions.

- Select READ DTCs to:
^ Read Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
^ Read Status Message.
^ Read Counter and Frozen Values.

- Select ERASE DTCs to:
^ Erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
^ Erase Counter and Frozen Values.
