Power Seat Switch: Service and Repair




Replacing "Backrest Switch":

Preparations:

Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.

Remove:






- battery negative lead (disconnect).
- seat from the car. See "Replacing Seat Assembly."
- backrest upholstery. See "Backrest Upholstery, Replacement".
- protective pad.

Removing:

NOTE: Check positioning of the switch before removing.






- Cut off cable ties.
- Disconnect the switch from the folding mechanism.
- Disconnect connector.
- Replace switch.
- Install in reverse order.

Replacing "Rake Switch":

Removing:






- Carry out preparations as outlined under backrest switch above (AD B1).
- Fold the backrest forward.

NOTE: Check positioning of the switch before removing.

- Cut off cable ties.
- Detach switch from the seat.
- Disconnect connector.
- Replace switch.
- Install in reverse order.
