Control unit, replacing/installing

Removal

Preparatory work




General
Before replacing the control unit and/or the motor for the sun roof, the following components must be removed or disconnected.
Remove:
- The panel for the A-pillar, in Section 8 (85, 88) Interior trim.
- Sun visor on the right-hand side.
- Both the supports for the sun visor.
- The grab handle or panel to the right.
Disconnect:
- The panel unit for interior lighting.
- Remove the headlining plug on the right-hand side and lift the headlining over the door molding.
- Remove half the edge for the sun roof opening.

Removing the control unit




- Carefully push the headlining down and position a spacer.
- Press in the catches and slide the control unit out from the support to the motor.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the control unit.

Installation

The sun roof must be closed before installing the control unit and wiring.

Note! Close the sun roof from the open position, not from the tilted position.

Installing the control unit




- adjust the sun roof control unit. The unit must be adjusted before installation
- rotate the gear wheel (A) to get the markings opposite each other.

- install the control unit in the mounting and connect the connectors. Ensure that it is secure
- secure the cables and connectors to prevent rattling
- Check the function.

Finishing

Install:
- the headlining and headlining plug
- the panel unit for interior lighting, see: Removing/installing courtesy light Removing/Installing Courtesy Light
- the grab handle or panel to the right
- both the supports for the sun visor
- sun visor on the right-hand side
- the panel for the A-pillar, in Section 8 (85, 88) Interior trim.
