Depending on the adaptation of the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C/ control head, the "solar operation" function is switched off at low ambient temperatures (adaptation of the (J255)) => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051. (read the measuring value block).

4 Heated Windshield (Z2)

Use of the optional "heated front windshield" is open.

Activation occurs via Heated Windshield Control Module (J505)=> Electrical Equipment and

The heated windshield control module (J505) exchanges information with the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head via the "Lin Bus" A/C data bus system => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 (read the measuring value block).

Function => [ Heated Windshield ] Heated Windshield.

5 Plenum chamber water drain

Checking, cleaning, removing and installing => [ Plenum Chamber Water Drain, Checking, Cleaning ] Plenum Chamber Water Drain, Checking, Cleaning

6 Pump-valve unit

Consists of the Left Heat Regulating Valve (N175), Right Heat Regulating Valve (N176) and the Coolant Pump (V50)

Check function => [ Ventilation System Heat Output and Pump Valve Unit Function, Checking ] Ventilation System Heat Output and Pump Valve Unit Function, Checking and => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

The pump valve unit components are activated via the Climatronic Control Module (J255), A/C control head => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function

Removing and installing => [ Pump/Valve Unit ] Pump/Valve Unit

7 Label

Indicates type of refrigerant and intended capacity.

The label is affixed to the front hood (not present on all vehicles).

8 Air intake unit

Removing and installing => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit

Disassembling and assembling => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit

Allocating air intake unit components => [ Air Intake Components, Allocating ] Air Intake Components, Allocating

The following components are installed or removed in the air intake unit:

- Control motor Door Motor (V113)

- Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89)

- Air Flow Door Motor (V71)

- Air quality sensor (only in vehicles with (G238)(only in vehicles with "Comfort" version A/C system)

- Fresh Air Blower (V2)

- Fresh Air Blower Control Module (J126)

- Air intake unit water drain hose

Depending on the version, for some countries with high dust levels, a dust filter is installed instead of the intake air grille, which prevents dust and sand from entering the fresh air blower.

9 Condenser

May only be removed when refrigerant circuit has been removed; bring vehicle to a workshop that has the necessary tools and in which the work can be performed accordingly by qualified personnel => Refrigerant R134a - Servicing.

Refrigerant lines, disconnecting and reconnecting => [ Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting from Condenser and Connecting ] Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting from Condenser and Connecting

Condenser, removing and installing => [ Condenser ] Condenser

10 Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17)

The measured value of the Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17) is evaluated by Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285) and transmitted via Comfort CAN-Bus system to Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head=> Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.

Removing and installing:

- Unplug the connector at the temperature sensor

- Unclip the outside air temperature sensor (G17) from the mount.

The figure shows the arrangement of the Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17) for all vehicles except the Audi RS6 (in the Audi RS6 the (G17) is installed in the air duct to the left charge air cooler).

11 A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor (G395)

Function, removing and installing => [ A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor ] A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor

The measured value of the sensor is displayed in the "Read measured value block"function of the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head=> Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051

12 Coolant Fan (V7)

The request to switch on the fan is transmitted by the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control module via the data bus system "Comfort" and "Drive") to the respective engine control device => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 (read measured value block).

The respective Engine Control Module (ECM) actuates the Coolant Fan (V7) or the Coolant Fan Control Module (J293) continuously with the desired output.

Different versions are installed depending on vehicle equipment.

Activation is displayed at the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head in the measured value block => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
