Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench 40-200 Nm (V.A.G 1332)
Removing
- Measure dimension from center of wheel to lower edge of wheel housing. Refer to => [ Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.
- Remove the wheel.
- Remove coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ] Coil Spring.
- Disengage speed sensor wiring at upper transverse link - arrow A -.
- Remove bolt - 1 -.
- Mark, for example using a felt-tip marker, position of eccentric bolt - arrow - to subframe.
- Remove bolt - arrow -.
- Remove upper transverse link.
Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Stabilizer Bar Overview ] Stabilizer Bar Overview.
• Transverse link connection may only be carried out of dimension between wheel hub center and lower edge of wheel housing, measured before assembly, is achieved. Refer to => [ Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.
- Note applied marking of eccentric bolt - arrow - to subframe.
• The washer - 2 - must be installed so that there is a gap - arrow B - between the washer and the cover plate - 3 -.
