Carpet: Service and Repair




Carpet Replacement

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

Front Floor Carpet

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service Precautions before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to damage the dashboard or the other interior trim.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

2. Remove these items:

- Detachable console
- Front seats, both sides Removal and Replacement
- Front floor tray Service and Repair
- Kick panels, both sides
- B-pillar lower trims, both sides
- Heater panels, both sides Dashboard Center Lower Console Removal/Installation

3. Remove the footrest (A) by pulling it to detach the clips.






4. Remove the front floor carpet (A).

1. Detach the clips.

2. Release the hooks (B) on both sides.

3. Release the Velcro fastener (C) on the front edge of the carpet, then pull back the carpet from under the dashboard.





5. If necessary, release the hook (A) that is just under the arrow mark (B) on the floor mat holder (C) by prying up on the holder with a flat-tip screwdriver, and remove the holder through the slit (D) in the carpet (E).






6. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

Middle Floor Carpet

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

2. Remove these items:

- Detachable console
- Front seats, both sides Removal and Replacement
- Front floor tray Service and Repair
- Second row seats, both sides
- Second row center seat (for some models)
- B-pillar lower trims, both sides
- Rear side trim panels, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area

3. Remove the screws (D, E), then remove the second seat striker cover A, the second seat striker cover B, and the second seat striker cover C.

NOTE: The left side is shown; the right side is similar.

4. Store both third row seats in the floor recess.

5. Pull out the rear floor outlet (A) to detach the clips (B, C), then remove it.






6. Remove the middle floor carpet (A).

1. Detach the clips (B, C).

2. Pull out the floor wire harnesses (D) through the slits (E).





7. If necessary, release the hook (A) that is just under the arrow mark (B) on the floor mat holder (C) by prying up on the holder with a flat-tip screwdriver, and remove the holder through the slit (D) in the carpet (E).






8. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
- Make sure the floor wire harnesses are routed correctly.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

Rear Floor Carpet

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

1. Remove these items:

- Third row seats, both sides Third Row Seat Removal/Installation
- Rear side trim panels, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area

2. Pull out the rear floor outlet (A) to detach the clips (B, C), then remove it.






3. Detach the clips (A, B), then remove the rear floor carpet (C).






4. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
