Rear Seat Removal and Installation

Rear Seat Components

WARNING:

Failure to take proper precautions related to the air bag system when performing the procedures described below could cause personal injury due to accidental activation of the air bag system.

Refer to Air Bag Warning Air Bag Warning
, and make sure that you understand all instructions before starting the service work.

Hatchback Model

Removal

1) Fold rear seat back forward.
2) Remove seat mounting bolts and nuts to remove seat assembly.
3) Disassemble and repair seat as necessary.

Installation

Reverse removal procedure to install rear seat.

- Torque to specifications in Components Rear Seat Components.

Sedan Model

Removal

1) Remove seat cushion.
2) Remove rear side sill scuffs referring to Step 3) of Service and Repair Floor Carpet Removal and Installation.
3) Remove rear seat side back.
4) Remove seat back.
5) Disassemble and repair seat as necessary.

Installation

Reverse removal procedure to install rear seat.

- Torque to specifications in Components Rear Seat Components.
- When installing seat cushion, align seat cushion hook with seat back bracket.
