Lock Carrier Service Position

Service Position, Setting





- Front bumper => [ Front Bumper Cover ] Front Bumper Cover, GTI => [ Front Bumper Cover, GTI ] , R32 => [ Front Bumper Cover, R32 ] , removing

- Disengage release in coupling => [ Hood Release, Disconnecting ] Hood Release, Disconnecting

- In vehicles with charge air cooler, disconnect pressure hoses.

- Remove signal horn - 4 - with bracket from longitudinal member at right side

- Unscrew bolts - 3 - at left and right longitudinal members.

- Install guide rod (T 10093) on left and right longitudinal members.

- Remove bolts - 2 - at left and right on top of lock carrier - 1 -.

- Lock carrier - 1 - can be pulled toward front approx. 10 cm on guide rod (T 10093).

Service Position, Resetting

To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.

- Center the lock carrier on the longitudinal members and between the fenders

• Make sure that pressure hoses for charge air cooler are re-engaged correctly.

• Hoses and lines must not be pinched.

Pressure Hoses, Releasing

- Disengage connector coupling - 1 - and disconnect pressure hose - 2 - in - direction of arrow - from coupling.





- When re-connecting pressure hoses, make sure that connector couplings engage audibly.
