System Pressure Test

NOTE: Perform pressure tests in the following order:
1. System Pressure Test.
2. Residual Pressure Test.

SYSTEM PRESSURE TEST

1. Connect fuel pressure gauge between the warm up regulator and the fuel distributor, and start the engine.
2. Fuel pressure should be 4.7 - 5.4 bar (68 - 78 psi) with the gauge valve closed.
3. If pressure is not within specification, check fuel pressure regulating valve in the fuel distributor for free movement, damage, or contamination. Clean or replace as necessary.
4. If the pressure regulating valve is OK:
a. Check fuel pump delivery volume
b. Check for clogged fuel filter
c. Check for crushed or clogged fuel lines.
d. Check fuel pickup in the fuel tank for damage or a clogged pickup screen.
e. Check fuel pump electrical connections for looseness and corrosion.
f. Check fuel pump voltage and current draw at the fuel pump.
- Approximately battery voltage should be available.
- Current draw should be less than 8.5 A.
5. Repair or replace any faulty components as necessary.
