1984 - 1988 Audi 5000 Maintenance Schedules require checking the operation of the automatic shift lock, including the neutral safety switch, every 5,000 miles on 5000 turbo and every 7,500 miles on 5000 S models.
Performance of this operation is also required for all 1978 - 1983 Audi 5000 vehicles during any scheduled maintenance/lubrication service.
Note:
As an aspect of Quality Service, checking of the automatic shift lock and neutral safety switch should be conducted every time the customer's vehicle is in the work shop.
