Instrument Panel Extension Trim Plate Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Restraint System Service Precautions.




1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
2. Remove the knee bolster trim panel.
3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad.
4. Remove the nuts (2) retaining the I/P extension to HVAC duct.
5. Remove the screws (3) from the I/P extension.
6. Remove the I/P extension (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the I/P extension (1) to the I/P.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the screws (3).

Tighten the screws (3) to 3 N.m (26 lb in).

3. Install the nuts (2) that retain the HVAC duct to the I/P extension.

Tighten the screws (2) to 3 N.m (26 lb in).

4. Install the I/P upper trim pad.
5. Install the knee bolster trim panel.
6. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
