Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair



Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil into a suitable container.





3. Disconnect the oil level sensor electrical connector (7).





4. Remove the oil level sensor.

Installation Procedure





1. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the drain plug.
Tighten the plug to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





2. Install the oil level sensor.
Tighten the sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the oil level sensor electrical connector (7).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Fill the engine with the proper quantity and grade of oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities.
