Battery Isolator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the primary negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).

2. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement.

3. Remove the battery isolator cover.




4. Disconnect the fuse block connector (1).

5. Remove the battery isolator terminal nuts (2).

6. Remove the battery isolator terminals (3) and the battery isolator cover.




7. Remove the battery isolator mounting nuts (1) and the battery isolator (2) from the rear compartment area.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the battery isolator (2) and tighten the mounting nuts (1) to 9 Nm (80 lb in).




2. Install the battery isolator terminals (3) and tighten the terminal nuts (2) to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

3. Connect the fuse block connector (1) to the battery isolator.

4. Install the battery isolator cover.

5. Install the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement.

6. Connect the primary negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).
