Radiator: Service and Repair


1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
2. Remove the upper radiator crossmember, then remove coolant hose clamps and hoses from radiator.
3. Disconnect automatic transaxle cooler lines from radiator.
4. On models equipped with an auxiliary transaxle cooler, disconnect rubber auxiliary cooler lines.
5. On all models, disconnect radiator fan wiring from the RFI module.
6. Disconnect upper radiator mounting screws.
7. On models equipped with engine block heater, disconnect wiring.
8. Remove condenser to radiator mounting screws.
9. Using caution not to bend condenser inlet tube or damage cooling fins, lean condenser forward against bumper.
10. Lift radiator free of vehicle.
11. On models equipped with an auxiliary transaxle cooler, remove plastic retaining straps and remove cooler.
12. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque A/C condenser mounting screws to 45 in-lbs.
b. Torque radiator hose clamps to 22 in-lbs.
c. Refill and bleed cooling system as outlined under "Cooling System, Bleed."
d. Check automatic transaxle oil level and replenish as necessary.
