Valve Cover: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and air cleaner to throttle body air tube.
2. Remove intake manifold plenum as outlined under "Intake Manifold, Replace."
3. If left-hand cover is to be replaced, remove coil pack as outlined in "Powertrain Management/Ignition System" section.
4. Remove valve cover bolts, then the cover. Discard gasket.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new valve cover gasket.
b. Tighten mounting bolts to specifications.
