Starter Solenoid Test

1. Verify battery is fully charged and in good condition.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Inspect starter and starter solenoid for corrosion or loose wiring.
4. Lower vehicle.
5. Remove starter relay from connector.

6. Connect a remote starter switch or a jumper wire between the battery positive post and terminal D on starter relay connector.
7. If engine cranks, starter and starter solenoid is operating correctly, perform starter relay test.
8. If engine does not crank or solenoid chatters, check wiring and connectors from relay to starter for loose or corroded connections.
9. Repeat test and, if engine still does not crank properly, repair or replace starter or starter solenoid as necessary.
