Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove hush panel, if equipped.
- Disconnect wiring connector from brake light switch.
- Pull switch from mounting bracket.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
- Depress brake pedal, then push new switch into clip until it firmly seats in the clip. "Clicks" can be heard as the threaded portion of the switch is pushed through the clip.

ADJUSTMENT
- Pull brake pedal rearward against pedal stop until a "click" can no longer be heard.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
- Connect wiring connector to brake light switch.
- Install hush panel, if equipped.
- Connect battery ground cable.

INSPECT
- Check brake lights for proper operation.
