Timing Chain Guide Replacement - Upper

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the upper timing chain guide bolts.
3. Remove the upper timing chain guide from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the upper timing chain guide to the cylinder head.
2. Apply threadlock to the upper timing chain guide bolt threads. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the upper timing chain guide bolts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Install the camshaft cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
