Throttle Body: Service and Repair

THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct.




2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge pipe (1) from the throttle control module (2).




3. Disconnect the throttle control module electrical connector (2).




4. Remove the throttle control module bolts (1).
5. Remove the throttle control module (2) and the seal from the intake manifold.
6. Clean the gasket surface.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Insert a new seal into the intake manifold groove.




2. Position the throttle control module (2) to the intake manifold.
3. Install the throttle control module bolts (1).

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




4. Connect the throttle control module electrical connector (2).




5. Connect the EVAP canister purge pipe (1) to the throttle control module (2).
6. Install the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct.
