Barometric Pressure Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Pressure Sensor Testing:

1. Warm engine to operating temperature and run at idle. Turn all electrical accessories OFF.
2. Connect voltmeter between sensor terminals A and B and verify that voltage is: 1.3 - 1.6V.
3. Disconnect and plug vacuum hose. Verify that voltage is: 2.38 - 2.78V.

Pressure Sensor Test Data:

4. Connect vacuum pump to sensor and measure voltage compared to vacuum applied. If not as specified, replace sensor.
5. Cancel malfunction code memory by disconnecting negative battery cable and depressing brake pedal for at least 20 seconds.
