Air Injection Check Valve: Testing and Inspection

Check Valve Inspection:

PORT AIR

1. Disconnect hose (from air pump to air control valve) at air control valve.
2. Start engine and run at idle.
3. Verify that exhaust gas does not flow from air control valve.
4. If exhaust gas does flow, replace check valve.


SPLIT AIR

1. Disconnect hose (from air control valve to air pipe) at air pipe.
2. Connect tachometer and start engine.
3. Increase speed to 2000 rpm and verify that exhaust gas does not flow from split air pipe.
4. If not as specified, replace check valve.
